Executive Meeting May 14, 2019

Called to order at 7:04 by Betty.  Thanks to Dan for hosting.

Minutes

Adopted as circulated, moved by Dan, seconded by Syl.

Treasury Report: Elizabeth

Financial report attached to the minutes. 50/50 has been more successful than raffle ticket sales year over year. Plant sale committee will consider raising prices and changing the signs for 2019. Ask about irises at the next meeting as there were people requesting them.

Membership Syl

Report attached to minutes. New member from the library session, 4 new members for 2019.

Secretary: Betty

Feedback from the website: Slide show – how can you halt the slide show. We will have a You tube channel link. Betty to ask Frank if the word south might impede searching and is there something we can do about it. Frank will need to remove placeholders. Betty and Frank are going to present the website at the June meeting, and have it up immediately following.

Guest speaker / Advertising Coordinator: Greg Templeton by email

Speaker on vertical gardening has been contacted. The picnic is confirmed July 14th 12 pm. Lucette will send picnic content for newsletter.

Bonsor Liaison:Syl

The group reviewed the rental agreement as it can be very confusing. Incorrect time again in the lobby per a new member. Syl to correct with Bonsor

Newsletter: Vince Wesley

Lots of content in the last newsletter. Be careful to follow copyright rules, article will be returned to submitter if copyright concerns. Vince will write a little note about copyright free. Deadline for the next newsletter May 22nd

Sunshine:  Judy Vander

No report, there is a replacement while Judy is away. Judy sent Nancy a card

Fall Fair: Lucette Wesley

Fall Fair meeting on Thursday May 16th at 1:30. Carol doing prizes. Dan to speak at meeting regarding companion planting. Schedule and entry tags are on the website. Dan is trying Kootenay covers and Lucette will write a summary article. Next task is getting tickets printed. Plans to simplify the tickets in books of 12.

June is Jennifer, will do garden samplers and muffins. Consider using a fruit or vegetable in floral design,  Betty to ask Jennifer about the rules regarding this.

Plant sale

Vesey’s seeds fundraiser

Successful, 3 people ordered. Will try again in 2020.
