Treasurer Report: Elizabeth
A copy of the updated treasurer’s report will be in the ‘red’ book. There are 52 books of FHF draw left. $340 has come in with 5 books outstanding. Last year each FHF float was $25, will increase to $35 each. consider more loonies and toonies and the square will be available. Elizabeth will contact Jennifer about the judges. The Bonsor rent invoices have been paid by Elizabeth. Sofia will get receipts.
Bonsor Liaison: Sofia report via email
Sofia has signed the permits with Bonsor and Elizabeth has organized the payment. We will need to send in a new certificate of insurance towards the end of the year since the current one is expiring in January.

Newsletter editor: Lorna
Deadline is August 27th to be sent out on September 3rd. Lucette will forward a write up from Samantha on Instagram on her garden. Lucette will write up Jennifer’s garden and get pictures from Greg. Betty has written up Joanne’s garden and forwarded it to Lorna.
Lorna will include an article on preparing a potted plant for the show. Betty to do an article on arrangements. Lucette to do an article on veggies if her time allows. The Fuchsia society is meeting at Fairhaven tomorrow. Lorna had hoped one of the executive would attend to promote the FHF, but no one is available. Lorna could ask Martine.

Fall Harvest Fair: Lucette
Prizes are starting to come in, more to come. Volunteers are a bit sparse for clean up. We have enough runners, kitchen help, selling etc.
Bonsor display case August 31st to September 14th. Charmaine and Sofia to do. We ordered a poster for 125thfor the window, and one for the hall.
Sofia will be dropping off the FHF supplies at Maria’s during the first week of September and Maria will move prizes and supplies from Sofia at the beginning of the FHF. They are needed for 3:30 on Friday and Lucette willassist Maria in moving them into Bonsor. Sofia will be there for clean up and take the supplies back to her house. Lucette will have the runner’s clipboards for set up.
There will be 4 trainee judges. Lucette will send Elizabeth the list of judges.
Potluck: Elly
Elly is coordinating this event but since we have decided as committee to simplify the event this year, Sofia isnot sure what else Elly can do except to prepare a write up for the newsletter. It’s pertinent to highlight that attendees are required to bring own plates, cutleries and drinks if they don’t want to have the punch that Lorna will be providing. They can start coming at 6 o’clock with the plan to start eating around 6:30pm. Do we need someone to say grace before we start eating? Elly would like to meet with Sofia about the potluck. Elly will ask Lorna Gross to say Grace
125 th Anniversary Celebration Committee: Syl
The committee is meeting this Thursday to package the seed packet gifts.
T-shirt orders: Sofia by email
The company in Richmond that we used to get the shirts printing done didn’t respond to Sofia’s email for two weeks but they now have. In the meantime, she has reached out to two different companies.
One is through Branko who has been helping us with paper products printing. Unfortunately, he doesn’t do embroidery printing but he knows of a supplier who does and Sofia has been given a quote. Their pricings are higher than what she got from the Richmond company so she hasn’t pursued this upon receipt of their quote.
The other company is based in Burnaby. Sofia had a good chat with their designer when she went in last week. He said he’s going to look into finding a similar vintage design for us since we don’t have the exact design. He told me to email them with the details of orders to get a quote but their email responses have been disappointingly slow. Sofia plans to call to follow up.
