2020 Annual General Meeting
March 3, 2020
Meeting called to order by Syl Davis at 7:40 p.m.
A moment of silence was observed in memory of John Chepil.
Motion to accept the minutes of the 2019 AGM. Moved by Lorna Hercheson, seconded by Charly Arnold. Passed.
Rotating Chair Report: Syl Davis
Introduction of our new steering members: Rose Templeton has taken over sunshine. Carolee Boivin has taken over speaker liaison. Thank you to everyone who helped out last year, and were recognized in November.
In order to ensure continuity in operation of the club (given there is no elected President or Vice-President) we put forward a resolution that:
For the period beginning February 1, 2020 and ending January 31, 2021, the executive committee members will rotate the role of chairperson and organize monthly club meetings and club business according to the changes voted on at today’s AGM meeting. Moved by Judy Kearly, seconded by Martine Arnold, all in favour, passed.
Financial Report: Elizabeth Beer
Budget reviewed for 2020 (attached). Reviewed in detail. The Christmas party cost was considerably less than last year due to the support and donations from many volunteers. The cost of the annual audit continues to increase. Motion to accept the financials and have the books audited by our usual auditor moved by Lesli McBratney, seconded by Carolee Boivin. All in favour, Passed
