Virtual Steering Committee Meeting
The following meeting was completed by email due to the physical distancing guidelines. Chaired by Betty and conducted from March 23rd to April 6th, 2020

The April and May meetings are cancelled. Carolee has sent a message to the April speaker on bees and has not heard back. Betty has cancelled the show bench judges for April and May. Jennifer is booked for June and July and Betty will keep in touch with her. We will see what happens at Bonsor for further meetings. Syl will be in touch with Bonsor when appropriate.
The plant sale is cancelled. Volunteer recognition is cancelled.
Newsletter Vince
Vince will continue to put out a monthly newsletter although it will be an abbreviated due to us not meeting. It is a great way to stay connected as a club. So far he has info on COVID 19, mental health resources and tips, some notifications re seniors hours at Burnaby establishments and curb side pick up. I think in these extraordinary times we should relax our guidelines about putting commercial notices in the newsletter and allow postings of local businesses who are doing separate hours for seniors etc., a note about the area for sharing on the website, doing member profiles staring with Charmaine and the pros and cons of a one day fair.
Fall Fair
Distinct dahlia will be Mexico. Lucette has agreed to have them on her front porch for pick up. Dan has ordered the potatoes and Lucette will pick them up and put them on the porch. She will have a either hold off collecting money or have a jar on the porch for collection. It is too early to decide on the fall fair, Lucette and Dan will connect as the situation progresses.

We are going to try and do a virtual showbench on the website. Details to be worked out and will appear in the April bulletin.
