Called to order at 6:57 by Betty. Thanks to Dan for hosting the meeting tonight.
Minutes

Treasury Report: Elizabeth
Attached to the minutes in the ‘red book’. Books to the auditor, audit complete. Noticed Christmas Party transacations, further explained and ticket price will need to increase.
Receipt for the caterer deposit needed.

Away in May, Lucette to take May meeting. AGM minutes, need to file with the government.
The new societies act bylaws online, need to get package.
Guest speaker / Advertising Coordinator: Lucette
April Speaker: Marilyn Holt Soils for optimal plant health.
Bonsor Liaison and Membership: Syl
Report attached re: membership. Report via email: Our Insurance finally came thru from BCCGC and I have supplied to Bonsor, they were quite antsy as it was after Mar 1 but all is now well.
Bulletin: Branko Matovic
Deadline March 20. Plant sale, Betty to do showbench. Nothing been set for fall fair to be put in bulletin. Branko reported not enough ‘stuff’ for the bulletin. Action item: Lucette will put an article together.
Sunshine: Judy Vander (Pat covering for Judy)
Action Item: Betty to email Pat regarding sunshine.
Fall Fair: Dan Oldroyd
Daphne will need cards and card stock. Many ribbons and rosettes have come back, no need to order for the next few years. Lucette will come to the fall fair meeting once date is confirmed. Action Item: Betty to discuss fall fair with Jennifer.
Old Business
BC Council of Garden Clubs
Thoughtful eulogy done for Mas at the meeting. New president Lorna Fraser made a good impression on the group. Lunch was good. Photographer did a good presentation.
Scholarship fund, two new people on scholarship fund. Due to our recent costs we will delay a scholarship decision until the end of the year.
Action item: Betty will remind Jean to prepare report
New Business
Plant Sale, Charmaine
May 5. Charmaine to give Jean a call to ask about remaining bookmarks from the BC Council meeting.Dan has bookmarks left, and given to Lucette for the spring fling at Mandeville. Once the Mandeville day is over, we will count and decide what other posters and bookmarks are needed.
Raffle prize perhaps just one, if a volunteers to come up with prizes to donate. Charmaine will send infor to Branko for the bulletin.
Charmaine will have a budget to buy $50 in plants. Elizabeth will ask Bert if he would like to donate. Logistics Charly to pick up on Friday at 3 pm. Dan to grow plants in greenhouse and bring. Dan to bring boxes and signs. Charmaine to get price lists ahead of time. Lucette and Charmaine to pick up box saying plant sales. Dan will get tools together.
Spring Fling at Mandeville, Saturday and Sunday 17 and 18
Dan to call to confirm and confirm with Lucette. Lucette has membership bag.
Presentation at the Library
Lucette and Syl will be presenting at the Burnaby public library on May 28th Westcoast vegetables and flowers and how to grow them.
Summer Garden Tours
Jean is organizing a garden tour. Greg Templeton. Joe Sadowski has given Eugene his name and Joanne can stay with wife during a garden tour.
Show Bench and Judges
Betty will discuss with the changes with Jeanne.
