Membership / Bonsor Liaison Syl
Report sent to executive members last week- Ed Kingsley and Lorne and Sally Iverson renewed.
Secretary: Betty
Forum is set up and volunteers requested to test it at Aug. meeting. Little response so Betty sent emails to a select group and will send them all passwords to get on and test.
Betty shared info from Syl and Judy- see Sunshine.
Executive present commented that they prefer to read the Bulletin as they had little time to look at the website.
Greg asked if Betty could re-send the password for the Member only section of the website.
Guest speaker / Advertising Coordinator: Greg
There is nothing to plan for the rest of the year. Sept FHF, Oct pot luck, Nov. we discussed doing photo tours again, and December is Christmas dinner.
Greg will be unable to continue as Speaker Convener next year. He will continue to attend Exec meetings till year end, but has health issues and other commitments that need more attention.
Newsletter: Vince
Date for Sept. newsletter is Aug. 21
Vince on vacation Sept. 18-Oct. 4 so we discussed combining the Sept and Oct. newsletter into one. Everyone agreed. The main focus will be Fall Fair, Oct. pot luck (already has write ups from Lily) and Silent Auction. He needs more fillers for the Newsletter since there is no show bench page. It may be a smaller one this time.
Sunshine: Judy
Card to Gene Kozier and Ed Kingsley
Gene is not doing well re his two recent falls.
Gene was talking to Ed Kingsley tonight, apparently he was involved in a car accident and was in hospital for about 6 days. He has been home for about a week and is not able to drive but a friend is helping him.
Fall Fair: Lucette
Elizabeth confirmed we have only 25 books of raffle tickets left. We’ve collected to date $550 with a few more to come.
Lucette reported that she has some prizes already and will drop off letters to all local nurseries in the next week. Same contributors as last year.
Martine’s grand daughter will do children’s coloring contest. We need a few more dollar store prizes.
Lucette will pick up a few more photo display folders (preferably the larger sized ones)
Lucette will connect with Jennifer to get all the judge’s names and which categories they will judge. Elizabeth would like to prepare the sheets ahead of time with Runner name, Category and Judge name.
Dan will contact Conway about potato contest.
Dan will get names of those who bought potatoes for that contest/Greg will do as last year and use plates to hold the potatoes as Conway takes them apart.
Dan will bring his broom and clean up stuff. Nancy had taken 2 of the FHF tablecloths when we talked about using disposable ones. But Dan is certain there are enough. One roll has never been used.
We discussed a number of other tasks. Lucette will review her notes from last year in coming weeks.
