Treasurer Report Elizabeth
A copy of the monthly statement will be in the ‘red book’. No changes from the last report.
Bonsor Liaison Dina
There will be a coffee urn available at future meetings. The auditorium wasn’t available until 6 for the potluck this year (and moving forward)
Membership Syl
No changes since last report. Membership renewal is in March. Syl will collect those memberships that come in after the Fall Harvest Fair and include them in the memberships that come in 2026.
Newsletter editor Lorna- deadline October 23, email out Oct. 30
Deadline is today. Maria has sent the bio for Ron. Martine has sent something in about the Christmas party and Lorna will send the final copy to her for any changes. Members will bring desserts and decorate the tables. Winner of the 50/50 was $72.50, Louise Meville. Lorna has an article from Mim. Betty will write the introduction.

New Business
Elections
Lucette, Syl, Dina, Betty Sofia, Elizabeth and Lorna will stand for re-election. Betty needs to confirm Ash and Maria. Lucette will talk to Dan. Betty will ask for nominations from the floor.Betty will ask Carole if she will continue with the show-bench. Plant sale needs a volunteer, Sofia and Lily potluck, Martine for kitchen if absolutely no one else, volunteer coordinator Charley, social Samantha, Frank webmaster. Volunteer for working on our 125th anniversary event.
Christmas Dinner
The 2024 party was: income $2040, expenses 2489.97, subsidy $449.97. The subsidy in 2023 was $807.Betty will make a motion to approve $1,100 for the Christmas Party. That leaves a budget of for $94 for the extras, napkins candies etc.
The deposit is paid. The 2025 ticket prices are $35 and $45. Elizabeth will collect ticket money at the November meeting
The committee is thinking about games, maybe Bingo until the first person wins. Socializing, no gift exchange. People will be asked to bring decorations for their tables. Some random gifts..Martine will bring some colouring for the tables. Dina and Lucette will bring extra colouring pencils. Lorna to bring punch.
BC Council of Garden Clubs meeting on Saturday. Martine is going, no second person confirmed yet. Lucette will send an email.
Old Business
125th anniversary plans for 2026.
Betty will ask for ideas at the meeting and ask if anyone would like to chair a committee for the event. Councillor James Wang said we should be asking for some assistance from the city, and assistant Elaine Wong could help. Consider a special event with politicians, Burnaby leadership, BC Council of Garden clubs. Strawberry tea? Print anniversary mugs or tshirts? Contact politicians to put the event in their riding newsletters?
