Membership: Syl –
2024 membership dues are due now. Syl has received $570 in paid 2024 memberships, more will come at the April meeting. Several new members/guests attended at the last meeting.

Deadline is March 21, 2024.
Speaker, Environment – Maria
Maria is going to do a short article about Earth Day in April. Lorna has some Bonsai containers, would be an excellent idea for filling with succulents etc. and selling at the plant sale.
March – what did we think of using Zoom????
April – Chris Jenkins on Shady Characters in your garden, will bring his presentation on a stick.
May – Our own panel (Dan, Betty, ?Greg, Syl on pots,) Maria to ask Lily. Dina will invite her dad.
June- Deb Jones on Rain Gardens
July/August – maybe the Kelpman, person speaking on medicinal plants.
Sunshine: Rose – card sent to Elizabeth but no note made in ‘sunshine’ column at Elizabeth’s request. Jack Mills passed away and Syl will put something in the newsletter. There will be a celebration of life later. Rose sent a card. Syl visited Bob Rutherford and he was in a much better frame of mind.
Fall Harvest Fair: Lucette- 2024 Schedule is ready for proofing- still needs decorative and potato (Betty and Jennifer away- Greg will do trophies, Jennifer will arrange judges in advance)
- Betty will proof the schedule
- Jennifer and Betty will do the floral design sections for the schedule
- Dina will collect raffle donations
- Dan will order the potato. It will be Russet Norkotah.
- Ron Long photos- Greg can do hall photos, just need a judge???
- The colour orange will be highlighted in the schedule
- We are moving away from having other garden clubs at the fall fair. Lucette will circulate an email to that fact.
- Lucette will ask Samantha for the kitchen
Plant Sale: May 4
- Charmaine has flyer and bookmarks- should have some at March meeting for members to take away
- Syl will donate three bags of worm castings and divide into 2 litre bags to sell for $10.
- Frank has added flyer to website and included in BCCGC website. Betty sent information into Minter for his column.
- Betty to send info about plant sale to CBC
- Sofia to send info to Burnaby Now
Old Business:
AGM- Financials to be reviewed by Syl and Sofia later

Garden Tours: any takers? Lucette will ask at the meeting
BC Council of Garden Clubs
Martine is voting delegate, Lucette can go if no one else wants to go. Lucette will check with Greg and Lily.
