Called to order at 7:02 pm

Treasurer’s Report Elizabeth

A copy of the treasurer’s report will be in the ‘red’ book. Last month we took in $260 for membership, $ 315.00 for guest fees. Kudos to everyone who mentioned the meeting on social media as that made the difference to the numbers of people who attended.

We 52 paid memberships for a total of 75 people. $1110 YTD

Newsletter editor Lorna

Putting the first name and capital letter of the last name of all the members for the newsletter. Betty will welcome them as well in her introductory note. Note about card sent to Butch Hamade. Syl wrote article on growing on the patio for the next issue.

Deadline is June 20th. Betty will write an article about the July party. Showbench will be completed will have a prize and have a Canadian theme.

Bring your own mug, and ask for a ticket in the 50/50

Speaker Co-Ordinator: Maria

Complete for this year. No speaker in October as it is potluck. Panel in July as Maria is away. Conway is speaking in August.

Sunshine:

Card sent to the Hamade family. Elizabeth is attending the funeral.

Fall Harvest Fair: Lucette and DanSchedule out in the next two weeks. Will be ready for the July meeting. Lucette will send

Betty a draft. Baking will change to be less wasteful with singles for a lot of the sections.

Will ask for a piece of loaf, not the whole loaf. Open, Amateur and Novice floral designers will use the same divisions. Betty will be the runner for that section. No volunteer to do donations yet, Lucette will ask at meeting. Lucette will ask for runners at the next meeting.

Old Business

Seniors expo

Successful event, many came to Brian Minter. Some more members expected. Similar table is planned at the Farmer’s market on August 23rd. Syl will attend with Lucette.

Lucette will report for the newsletter.

Garden Tours

Betty will follow up with Greg before the next meeting regarding his plans for a tour.

Frank and Betty will host a tour and hot dogs on August 16th from 1 to 4 pm.

125th anniversary plans in 2026

We will leave this on the agenda and discuss at a future meeting.

New Business

Picnic Plans Martine

So far very few responses RSVP. 12 people so far, 1 platter from Costco will be enough for that small a group. We usually have 25 to 30 people at the picnic. Martine has sent out a second reminder and has asked people to RSVP by Wednesday.

Canada Day Party Plans

Small prize for the show bench. Canada themed treats. Betty will put in article about Canadian themed treat. Everybody bring something to talk about, fruit tool, story a picture . Something that people grew up with. Betty to write up. Split up into groups. 3 or 4 groups. Wear Red and or white. Canada theme. Incentive with a prize Lorna will supply. We will start in small groups as an icebreaker.

Update on projector

Requirements for the size of the room etc.

• HD projector

• 3000 lumens

• Built in speakers

• Name brand

• Carrying case/bag

• HDMI cables transition from lap top

• Approx $1000• Costs $150 per meeting to rent the projector from Bonsor

• Consider a motion at the AGM, consider fund raising at the fall fair.
