Executive Meeting in person Aug. 15
Minutes
Called to order at 7:15 by Lucette. Dan, Syl, Sofia, Vince, Martine, Elizabeth and Betty in attendance. Regrets from Maria and Dina.
Treasurer Report: Elizabeth
A copy will be in the ‘red’ book. The 50/50 draws have been very popular the annual picnic made $46.50, The last meeting made $52.50
Secretary: Betty – No report
Fall Harvest Fair: Lucette
- Emily Budinski not judging so we have 4 judges plus Ron for photographs. Betty will pick up lunch instead of being a runner.
- Lucette will write the ‘’how to’ obtain exhibitor tags online in the newsletter. Betty to send log in information.
- Sofia will go to Dans to take the items down from upstairs. Does Dan have the metal cookie tin with the tags? He will check.
- Betty will bring scale, and set up coffee and muffins for judges on Saturday morning
- 2023 could we do: People’s choice award/ cash prize award to replace Country Fair? (Paper and pens for entries?)
- Friday afternoon pick up at Dan’s (mostly table covers and wooden stands, blocks for photo display-need backing as too wide)
- Martine will leave her table clothes before she leaves on September 7. Betty will bring extra flowers if avail for centrepieces
- Help for Syl for donations and awards, Charmaine and Lucette will help. Assign prizes in order.
- Councillors still not confirmed.
- Dina has delivered prize letters – confirmed Mulberry basket, Lee Valley $100 e-gift card, Organic Dirt Supplements asked for table to display product- Dina will advise donations only and we’ll post his company name
- Charline and Martine are doing the window on August 28th at noon, contact person is Diane Wood. Lucette is providing ribbons for the display. Lining the jar with paper pictures of strawberries, blackberries.
- Lucette to check or send a revision of the floorplan
- Tickets to sell. 26 books left.
- Cupboard clean out planned on August 22nd by Elizabeth and Carole.
Membership & Bonsor Liaison: Syl, Dina –
Copy of the report will be in the ‘red’ book. New contract from Bonsor has been completed and rent is going to be less this year. Will complete the contract when Dina returns.

Old Business
Mulberry gardeners luncheon August 30th
- 13 confirmed
Christmas: Martine
Martine met with Dina and Carolee last week. $35 per person, $50 for non members. The dinner is $33 per person from the caterer. The club will pay for the cutlery, teacups, etc. tea and coffee. Games are planned. Martine will ask Rose to print tickets. Elizabeth will be the chair. When Dina and Martine get back they will finalize plans. Showbench trophies to be awarded, have a 50/50 and 15 year pins to be presented Carolee is planning games. No booked entertainment, background music. Socializing game planned. Cashbox for the foodbank. Martine to ask if Greg still has the Santa suit. Dina will be bringing white tablecloths, with Christmas runners from Martine and Sofia.
New Business
Pot Luck: Sofia
Sofia is taking over for Lily. Thank you Sofia. Auction documents are in the cupboard. Floorplan was reviewed. People will be asked what they want to bring. Alternatively they can donate $15. Sofia will put something in the newsletter.
Breck’s group order
We will continue to keep it informal if people wish to go together to order.
