Called to order at 7:02 by Syl. Lucette, Sofia, Dina, Betty attending.

Treasurer Report: Elizabeth
Treasurers report circulated by email. A copy will go in the ‘red’ book. Lucette and Syl have done their audit report, will review together and a copy of the letter will go in the minutes. There is a discrepancy of a penny. Thanks to Elizabeth, and we will acknowledge her hard work at the next meeting.

Lucette will send an email to see if anyone still wants Yukon Gold Potatoes. There are 4 dahlias left. Betty will put a note in the newsletter.

Plant Sale
Charmaine is all organized. Lucette is contacting the church regarding 8 tables rather than 6. Charmaine is creating another basket. Lucette notice in bulletin. 60 l in 2 30 l bags of worm castings for $74.60, Mandeville is charging 12.99 for 2 litres. Syl has found a bag that will tolerate the worm castings. $8 per 2 litres. Charmaine, Lucette and Syl will get together to divide the worm castings. Dina and Betty will help if available. Lucette will put an article about worm castings in the bulletin. No half price deal at the end of the day on the worm castings.

Meeting Format
We have ‘TBD’ listed for location for the May and June executive meeting. Dan will host the June meeting, Elizabeth will ask Sofia to set up zoom for May.
Summer picnic
Betty confirmed July 29th for the summer picnic at Charly and Martine’s
Christmas Party
Lucette got the complete menu from Casalinga and reviewed. Full service for Christmas for approximate 45 people would be $2391. Lucette reviewed subsidies in previous years. Dina, Carolee and Charly to help. The committee should consider if entertainment is can be entertainment.
Celebration of Life for Ron Templeton
July 11at Bonsor, Greg has asked if some members would like to volunteer to help with refreshments.
Burnaby Blooms
Lucette and Syl will be presenting under a 20×20 tent located in the Century Gardens area on May 13. Mid afternoon times to be confirmed.
Gardening 101 (Or Gardening for Beginners): Getting started- basics (soil, water, fertilizer), choosing the right plant for the location (sun/shade/wind), easy to grow beginner plants and veggies PLUS a bit of condensed info about places to shop in Burnaby, conclude with an overview of the South Burnaby Garden Club (and the purpose and value of garden clubs in general)
Maintaining a Healthy & Vibrant Garden: Fertilizing organically, watering and meeting sunshine needs, dealing with pests, intermediate/advanced plants & veggie suggestions, conclude with an overview of the South Burnaby Garden Club (and the purpose and value of garden clubs in general)
These will be free drop-in workshops. I think they will be popular, especially if you help to spread the word.
I have not had time to source any donated materials, but I can offer some ‘prizes’ to people attending that are gardener/gardening related that could help generate interest & participation. We could have a draw box on site. We have a bit of swag I need to clear out this year.
