Plant sale
Charmaine agreed to the addition in the bulletin regarding the church as circulated by Syl. Tables will be set up at 8:30. Volunteer list completed. Volunteers dug up 11 shrub roses red and 2 pink. They perked up once they were repotted and watered and hopefully will be good for the sale. Charmaine has a basket from the Mulberry and is creating a second basket as well. The plant sale budget was used for potting up soil. Action item: Vince to add a note in the bulletin about flats/boxes and bags.
Treasurer Report: Elizabeth
Treasurers report by email. Syl is carefully watching the balance to judge how we have been impacted by the pandemic
Fall Harvest Fair: Lucette and Dan
After much persistence on her part, Syl has been able to determine two possible alternate dates with Bonsor. August 26, 27, 28 and a shortened fair on September 10 and 11. After discussing the pros and cons of both dates, the group decided August 26, 27, 28 to be the best option. Action item: Betty to check with Jennifer ASAP. Jennifer returned Betty’s text during the meeting and is available that weekend. We will work all together to get everything organized for the new date. Action item: Syl will confirm the dates with Bonsor ASAP. Action item: Syl to ask for volunteers for the fall harvest fair committee at the next meeting. We will not try to have speakers at the fair this year. We will not rent the extra room to save on costs. Sofia will look at social media. Potato contest will use Chieftan potatoes and Dan has them for the May meeting. $1 each. Bake sale will need to be decided later depending on health regulations. AC Ben will be the distinct dahlia. We may not have a judge for baked goods if there are health restrictions. We will create a special division for the fuchsia and begonia show. Action item: Lucette will talk to Lorna to iron out logistics.
